The N2-p3 Complex of the Evoked Potential and Human Performance
نویسنده
چکیده
When sensory receptors are stimulated, a series of negative and positive deflections time-locked to stimulus onset may be evoked in the electroencephalogram (EEG). Since these potentials are evoked by sensory stimulation, they are called sensory-evoked potentials (EPs). Because of the small magnitude of the EP in relation to ongoing background noise, many stimulus trials must be averaged to obtain a stable EP. LVd

Correlation analysis of the long latency auditory evoked potential N2 and cognitive P3 with the level of lead poisoning in children
INTRODUCTION The effects of lead on children's health have been widely studied. AIM To analyze the correlation between the long latency auditory evoked potential N2 and cognitive P3 with the level of lead poisoning in Brazilian children. METHODS This retrospective study evaluated 20 children ranging in age from 7 to 14 years at the time of audiological and electrophysiological evaluation...
متن کاملLate auditory event-related evoked potential (P300) in Down's syndrome patients.
UNLABELLED Down syndrome is caused by a trisomy of chromosome 21 and is associated with central auditory processing deficit, learning disability and, probably, early-onset Alzheimer's disease. AIM To evaluate the latencies and amplitudes of evoked late auditory potential related to P300 events and their changes in young adults with Down's syndrome. MATERIALS AND METHODS Prospective case stu...
متن کاملModelling of auditory evoked potentials of human sleep-wake states.
The shape of evoked potentials is influenced by the level of vigilance, varying with sleep-wake states. In this paper the shape of auditory evoked potentials is modelled by taking two factors, both modulating the underlying neuronal substrate, into account: 'sensory gating' and 'neuronal firing mode'. Under low levels of vigilance sensory gating reduces the amount of neuronal activity reaching ...
متن کاملComparison of visual evoked potential changes in patients with alzheimer, vascular dementia and minimal cognitive Impairment with healthy people: a case-control study
Background: Alzheimer dementia as the most common cause of dementia is a chronic, progressive, irreversible and incurable disease. The second most common cause of dementia after Alzheimer is vascular dementia. One of the systems involved in dementia is the visuospatial system and visual evoked potential (VEP) can be one of the diagnostic methods for this disease. Therefore, the present study ai...
متن کاملTemporal processing and long-latency auditory evoked potential in stutterers.
INTRODUCTION Stuttering is a speech fluency disorder, and may be associated with neuroaudiological factors linked to central auditory processing, including changes in auditory processing skills and temporal resolution. OBJECTIVE To characterize the temporal processing and long-latency auditory evoked potential in stutterers and to compare them with non-stutterers. METHODS The study included...
